About

Emma Schlenker is a 6th grader who has found a passion in talking to young kids about Water Safety.  In 2007 Emma became the youngest girl to swim from Alcatraz to the San Francisco Aquatic Center in San Francisco Bay.  Emma’s story was run on over 200 television news outlets around the world.  The Alcatraz Swim earned her a guest appearance on The Ellen Degeneres Show.  Ellen showed her appreciation for what Emma was doing by presenting her with a family vacation to Jamaica.  While in Jamaica Emma gave her Wafety Safety talk at Jamaican school.

Following Emma’s record-breaking swim she has dedicated her time to educating the community on drowning prevention (see Media & Appearances)
